Dear MISD Families,

Although the end of the school year is certainly one we would not have anticipated when we kicked off 2019-20, I wanted to extend a huge thank you to students and families for your dedication to learning and your patience with us as we transitioned to supporting students and families in a very different capacity.

As we close out the year, please take a moment to complete the survey (linked here or by entering https://forms.gle/ZoJ5uQP4NJB7Z2DF6 into your browser) to provide us with feedback and help in planning for the 2020-21 school year.  By July 1, MISD will submit a Return to Learn plan to the Iowa Department of Education, which includes planning for on-site learning as well as the possibility of required continuous learning at home.  Your input on the survey is essential to help guide our planning.

The safety of our staff and of our community are important.  Therefore, during June and July our district and building office staff will not be open for walk-in traffic, but will be open by appointment only as well as accessible by phone and email. 

Registration information and applications for bussing for 2020-21 will be available in late July. The registration process will be able to be completed entirely online.  However, we will also have a face to face option on August 7 for those who may need assistance.  

The Iowa Department of Education (DE) will be conducting a technology survey, with information coming in the next few days.  The DE survey is intended to identify gaps and needs in broadband across the state, and will help in guiding statewide funding to address some of the gaps.  We recognize time is precious, so your help in completing both the MISD district survey above and the Iowa DE survey coming later are greatly appreciated!
