July 21, 2020
Dear MISD Families,
Last week we shared the current plans with regard to returning to school for the 2020-2021 school year. We continue to develop building-specific plans, which will be shared next week along with any revisions to our planning thus far. As was noted last week, we are planning for a return to on-site instruction to begin Aug. 24. We will provide an online, subscription-based option for families who choose this rather than on-site. The on-site delivery includes a variety of mitigation efforts, which can be found in more detail in the Return to Learn Guidebook linked below.
To help with our planning efforts, please take a few moments to respond to the survey linked below. You will be asked to provide responses for each child individually, as we understand that these decisions may differ for each child in a family based on a variety of factors. The answers you provide on the survey do not lock you into a decision for Aug. 24. Parents will be asked to make a final decision about plans for on-site or remote instructional delivery in early August.
Please complete the survey by July 27 using the following link: https://forms.gle/5rowCKXLaSwNwNuDA
Below you may access additional information regarding MISD’s Return to Learn, which was provided last week. These documents will continue to be revised as the Iowa Department of Education (DE), the Iowa Department of Public Health, Linn County Public Health, and Governor Reynolds provide ongoing updates.
