Candidate Filing Period for City/School Election
LINN COUNTY, IA—The combined city/school election in Linn County will be held November 2, 2021. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Candidates for city councils, mayoral seats, and school boards may file their papers from Monday, August 23 through Thursday, September 16 at 5 p.m. School board candidates must file their paperwork with their school secretary. City candidates must file with the Linn County Auditor’s Office, located at 935 2nd St SW in Cedar Rapids.
Candidates must file both a State of Iowa Nomination Petition and a State of Iowa Affidavit of Candidacy. A list of the number of signatures required for each position can be found on Linn County’s website.
