It was a cold Saturday morning but these NHS students worked hard cleaning up the roadside before heading off to prom!

We have lots of activities after school today! Girls Track & Field is at Anamosa at 4:00 pm, Girls Soccer plays at South Tama at 4:15 and Boys Soccer plays at South Tama at 5:30 pm. Good luck to all of our athletes!

From Coach Menken: The 7th grade track girls had a fabulous first track meet at the Marion Independent track meet. They placed 3rd out of 8 teams and scored 112 points. From Coach Kuethe: The 8th grade girls are congratulated on their fine performances at the Marion meet!

It's time to buy your 2023-24 VMS Yearbook! Place your yearbook order by Friday, May 24th at https://jostensyearbooks.com/?REF=A02414350. The books cost $35 and will be handed out in the fall (at VMS for current 5-7th graders and at MHS for current 8th graders).

The Football Cheer Tryout Meeting will be held before school on Tuesday, April 16th at 7:00 am in the Group Room. Interested students are encouraged to attend!

Vernon is only $305 shy of our Caitlin Clark Fundraiser goal of $4,000! Current class standings: 8th Grade $2,460, 7th Grade $880, 6th Grade $171, 5th Grade $184. Bring in final donations to Mr. Fishell by tomorrow! All donations go to the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital.

GIC students did a concrete slump test in class this morning. They used their results to graph and write linear equations and predict how much water they would need for a 60 lb bag of concrete.
