FOR GRADES 6-8
If you like thinking about challenging math problems, the MathCounts class is for you! We cover 10 problems each period, and discuss different ways students come up with how to solve the problems. This class will challenge your problem-solving skills. Outside work is not required but strongly encouraged if you plan to compete in the competition in February. In January, we will begin planning which problem we want to perform for the video challenge (which is completed solely by the students)!
MathCounts Class meets
Thursdays, September 30 – March 17, at MHSAP.
(Students are welcome to join us for any part of the program!)
Sept. 30 – Dec. 16 we focus on problem-solving skills.
In January we focus on preparing for the competition.
Feb. - Mar. we focus on producing/editing and submitting the video.
