Joe Fontenot, Mile Club Director
Francis Marion Intermediate School was able to incorporate the “Feelin’ Good Mileage Club” with the addition of a 200 meter asphalt track on our playground. This program helps to promote fitness through walking, building muscle, burning calories, reducing stress and creating good lifelong habits. The program also helps to alleviate crowded space during recesses. “Toe Tokens” for shoelaces and certificates are given as rewards for the students’ walking accomplishments. The honor system is used for students to tally their distances. Currently, this program is on hold due to Covid-19.
