2nd grade BeeBots

In our second grade classrooms, computer science is an engaging, hands-on tool for building strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Students are programming BeeBots to organize and sequence information connected to their classroom learning, transforming abstract concepts into concrete, meaningful actions.

As students plan routes, test commands, and debug errors, they practice logical reasoning and make intentional decisions about order, direction, and cause and effect. This process encourages students to think deeply, reflect on their choices, and adjust their strategies as needed.

Collaboration is a natural part of this work. Students communicate their ideas, listen to peers, and support one another as they work through challenges together. Through persistence and repeated problem-solving, students learn that mistakes are an important part of learning—and that perseverance leads to growth and success.
