We are incredibly proud to announce that our preschool team has been officially recognized as Iowa Early Childhood Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (EC-PBIS) Model Classrooms! 🏆

What does this mean for our students?

EC-PBIS is a framework used to promote social-emotional competence in all students, and we use the Pyramid Model as our roadmap. This research-based approach supports children’s mental health by:

  • Building Nurturing Relationships: Creating a caring community for children and families.
  • Creating High-Quality Environments: Using predictable schedules and visual tools to help children feel safe and successful.
  • Targeted Teaching: Helping children develop essential skills in friendship, emotional literacy, and self-regulation.
  • Individualized Support: Providing data-driven interventions and behavior plans developed in partnership with families.

What is a "Model Classroom"?

A Model Classroom is an environment that consistently implements these practices at a high level of fidelity. It’s the "gold standard" of early childhood education!
