Excitement is building for our Scholastic Book Fair! Before the fair, K-2 students have been watching preview videos and scouring the flyer for books they wish to purchase. What books are Longfellow students most looking forward to? Here are some top picks:
Dog Man (the newest book, Dog Man: A Sprinkle in Time, is out 11/3)
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Fight or Flight
The Humble Pie (The latest of the Food Group Series by Jory John)
Anything with cute animals on it (We can’t get enough of axolotls and capybaras!)
Favorite characters like Stitch and K-Pop Demon Hunters
Pokémon and other gaming characters
Why make a purchase at the book fair? Excitement for the fair helps create a love of reading in our students and helps build your family’s home library. Proceeds from the Scholastic Book Fair help the Longfellow Library purchase new books. Last fall, we fell just short of our sales goal, so this year, we’re aiming to exceed it! Every purchase allows us to get even more brand new titles into the hands of all our Longfellow students. To make your impact go even further, please consider rounding up your purchase or making a donation to Share the Fair. All money added to our Share the Fair account goes directly to purchasing books for our library.
Don’t forget about teacher wishlists! Each teacher at Longfellow is encouraged to add books to their wishlists. Families can then purchase the books and add them to their classroom library.
We can’t wait to see you at the book fair! The fair will be open during conferences, on Monday, November 2, and Thursday, November 5, from 3:45-7:45.
