In January, Kindergarten classes learned the beginning basics to riding a bike in Physical Education class. They used Strider bikes generously donated by Linn Area Credit Union in 2019. These are bikes without pedals that help with balancing. The curriculum that was presented included daily helmet fitting and checks that included the student being able to adjust a helmet to fit themselves. Balance, steering, braking, and other safety aspects were also introduced. The Kindergarteners had several opportunities to enhance their riding skills during class and were allowed to progress at their own pace.
