MISD Schools Earn High Marks on Iowa State School Performance Profiles

MARION, IA — The Iowa Department of Education has released its latest School Performance Profiles, and all five schools in the Marion Independent School District have earned high ratings.

According to the state’s accountability system, Longfellow Elementary, Parkview Elementary, and Francis Marion Intermediate Schools were each designated as High Performing. Vernon Middle School and Marion High School were both recognized as Commendable.

“I am thankful for the collective hard work and dedication of our staff, which is making an enormous difference for our students,” said Superintendent Janelle Brouwer. “This is an awesome celebration of our staff’s tireless efforts to care for our students as learners and as individuals.”

The Iowa School Performance Profiles are based on multiple academic indicators, including student growth and proficiency in English language arts and math, conditions for learning, graduation rates, and progress toward English language proficiency.
