Get ready to soar! Parkview Elementary is thrilled to introduce a brand-new, school-wide learning initiative: the Parkview Learning Adventure. This year, our entire school community is embarking on an exciting virtual road trip across the United States, and every minute of learning at home helps us reach our next stop.
From practicing math facts to reading bedtime stories, home learning directly powers our journey across the country!
How the Adventure Works: The Blue Adventure Folder
A Blue Adventure Folder was sent home that contains personalized learning materials to practice at home with family, such as:
Writing names, practicing letter sounds, and mastering tricky words
Number identification, addition, and subtraction
Shared reading and targeted skills tailored to your child's current classroom goals
Inside the folder, families will also find a simple Communication Log. Once students finish their evening activity, parents initial the log box and students return their Blue Adventure Folder every Monday with their completed log and materials inside.
Earn Rewards & Travel the Map!
Each week when students return a completed Communication Log, they’ll earn a weekly prize...plus valuable miles for our entire school!
A large U.S. map in our main hallway will track our progress starting right here in Iowa. Every returned log adds to our total distance, helping us unlock whole-school celebrations as we hit major milestones:
2,500 Miles: Stop #1 – Chicago! 🏙️ (School-wide celebration!)
5,000 Miles: Stop #2 – New York City! 🗽 (School-wide celebration!)
Final Destination: Stay tuned as we keep traveling further toward our ultimate mystery destination!
