Our VMS Cheerleaders are getting ready for the winter sports season. We are proud of our students serving as role models for our younger students -- little eyes are always watching!!❤️💛 #vmsinspire

Students at Vernon participated in their annual "Buy-A-Bone" game over the last two days in PE classes! This cross-curricular game inspires students to earn money for exercising while putting together a complete skeleton. #vmsinspire

The Vernon Eighth Grade Band members joined the MHS Marching Band to perform as a pep band together at the MHS Senior Night Football Game on October 13th. Due to rain, the event was held indoors, allowing our students to still have a great performance experience! #vmsinspire

To create Kintsugi Pottery, our 8th graders had to break their projects first (scary!) in order to mend them. In relation to the middle school experience, this is important wisdom: accepting one's imperfections is a valuable part of life that makes your journey more interesting.

8th Grade artists created their own version of Japanese Kintsugi pottery. Kintsugi, meaning "golden joinery" is the art of repairing broken pottery by joining the broken pieces with glue, then painting the cracks with metallic paint to make the breakage visible.

VMS is hosting a Halloween dance on Thursday, October 26th! The 5th and 6th Grade mixer will be from 3:15-4:30 pm and the 7th and 8th Grade dance will be from 4:30-5:00 pm. Students can wear costumes to the party and bring money for snacks!

Students in Miss Hintz’s 6th Grade Science class spent the week making plant and animal cell models. They use materials ranging from recycled shoe boxes to 3D printing pens. Very creative work from our young scientists! #vmsinspire

FMI will be closed on Thursday, October 12 and Friday, October 13 due to storm-related water damage to the building.
All other attendance centers in the district will remain open.

The VMS Football Cheerleaders just wrapped up a great season! They especially loved the student section's support and team spirit at the last football game! #vmsinspire ❤️🎀💛

Mrs. Hale's 8th grade artists imagined and created a drawing of what a dragon eye might look like. They had some fantastic results, using what they know about color theory and blending in oil pastels. #vmsinspire

Mrs. Behrens-Wolf's class went on a field trip to Bass Farms. It was a fun-filled day at the farm, and students appreciated Chris and his family's hospitality. Students came home with pumpkins donated by Bass Farms, that they will carve later this month. #vmsinspire

Students in 7th Grade Science are creating food webs to explain feeding relationships within ecosystems. #vmsinspire
