Congratulations to the Vernon 8th Grade Band who received a Superior Plus rating at the Adventureland Festival of Bands! The 8th grade band received the highest rating possible and was awarded "Best of Class" in their division. This is an outstanding accomplishment for this group of students. The 7th grade band also performed very well and received an Excellent Plus rating. Congratulations, VMS 7th & 8th Grade Bands! #vmsinpire


5th grade students in Mrs. Kroll's TAG class took some time to visit the Eastern Iowa Observatory earlier in the week. They learned all about the different programs that are offered there and got to look through a giant telescope! #vmsinspire

7th Grade science students are working on a Phases of the Moon Puzzle. Students were given images of the moon throughout a month and had to put them in the correct sequence. Students have also been exploring the reason we observe phases, which involves the Moon’s position relative to the Earth and Sun. After putting them in sequence, students had to arrange their cards around the “Earth” and “Sun” cards. #vmsinspire
