Thanks to the incredible hard work of our students throughout October, our school earned our second PBIS school-wide reward of the year: an extra recess with sidewalk chalk! The excitement was unbelievable as the entire FMI student body got to head outside together to play, draw, and celebrate as one big community.

A huge part of this achievement comes down to a new strategy our students have completely embraced. We recently introduced a school-wide signal—holding up three fingers—to remind students to ignore distractions around them. The kids latched onto this idea right away and have been responding fast whenever teachers hold up the signal. Learning to tune out disruptions helped students stay focused on learning, which directly led to earning more "Wolfies" for demonstrating the Marion Way: Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Integrity.

We are so proud of our students' dedication, but the fun is just getting started! Our next school-wide goal is a massive, building-wide hallway coloring party. Remind your student to keep showing the Marion Way every day so we can earn our next reward together!
