Miss Natalie’s class explored an unplugged computer science lesson this week! Students practiced giving step-by-step directions to help a stuffed dog find the fireworks 🎆 and popcorn 🍿 pictures from the book “If You’re Happy.” Such a fun way to build early coding and problem-solving skills—without using a computer! 🐶💻 #lesinspire

Learning to write and form letters correctly is no easy task! Mrs. Beckner’s class is learning to make different lines for writing. Today they practiced the cup line and used play-doh to create it after they traced them on paper. #lesinspire

Ms. Jenni's preschool class used water to "paint" around the playground and the school on the hot day yesterday. #lesinspire

Pumpkin anatomy + curious first graders = fun fall learning… even if it still feels like summer! ☀️ 🎃 🍂

The second grade classes finished their first CKLA Knowledge unit on Fairy Tales and Tall Tales and celebrated by dressing up as their favorite characters and enjoying flapjacks! 🏰 🥞 (Don’t you think Paul Bunyan 🪓 would just LOVE that Babe the Blue Ox showed up?❤️) Also, no science experiment will ever be quite the same once you’ve separated rocks next to a fairy tale princess. 👸 #lesinspire

One of our favorite days of Homecoming week--having football players, cheerleaders, and poms come to greet the students in the morning! Good luck tonight Wolves! #lesinspire #misdinspire

We are so grateful for everyone's patience and flexibility today as we navigated the unexpected power outage.
To our amazing staff, it truly took a village to make an emergency dismissal run as smoothly as it did! Your teamwork and calm under pressure made all the difference.
And to our families-Thank you for your understanding, quick responses, and patience. We appreciate you!

Due to a power outage impacting some of our building sites, as well as phones, internet connection, and our kitchens, MISD will be dismissing early.
Marion High School will be dismissing immediately. Other buildings will be dismissing in the near future as soon as we get busses back on site.
More communication will follow shortly.
Parents who pick up their students are encouraged to come now. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

First graders read the fable "The Maid and the Milk Pail" in their CKLA knowledge block today. Then they practiced using their vocabulary word by "balancing" pails on their heads. It was not as easy as it seemed! #lesinspire
