We had lots of fun at today’s PBIS Assembly! 🐾 We celebrated our November Marion Way VIPs, welcomed our new 2nd Grade Kindness Krew as they helped lead us in the Longfellow Song, learned about our parent group’s new fundraiser, and had some lucky paw print winners spin the prize wheel to earn a fun reward for their class! Congratulations to 2T for winning the secret class! #lesinspire

Gym class took a fun new turn for our preschoolers! They got to explore the fitness room, check out the workout equipment, and learn more about the different machines. A fun opportunity to explore something new and get moving! #lesinspire

Mrs. Tank’s second grade artists were hard at work today creating pumpkins by blending chalk. They met all of the art criteria today! 😉 Messy? ✅ Fun? ✅ Beautiful creations? ✅ #artclassistheBEST ❤️

First graders celebrated Election Day by casting their votes for their next classroom craft! They learned a little about the voting process while practicing how to make their voices heard. 🗳️🇺🇸 #lesinspire

We had a great time celebrating Halloween today from our costume parade, to our parties, and the staff dressing up as characters from Toy Story! We hope everyone has a fun and safe time celebrating this weekend. #lesinspire

Learning went beyond the classroom today as our preschoolers spent some time at Kroul’s Farm. The students learned all about pumpkins, visited with cows, goats, chickens, and rabbits, and worked together to find their way through the hay bale maze. #lesinspire

Preschoolers in Ms. Ann’s class had fun playing Shape Memory! They are building memory skills, practicing taking turns, learning patience, and celebrating each other’s successes. #lesinspire

Teamwork and technology go hand in hand! Miss Natalie’s class worked together to program the Blue-Bot to retell the story Virgil and Owen in the correct sequence. A fun way to combine coding, collaboration, and literacy! #lesinspire

Check out Kindergarten students in KP practicing their phonics skills with Tap and Chase! We took the classic game of “Duck, Duck, Goose” and gave it an educational twist to strengthen syllable blending. Instead of calling out “duck” students walked around tapping heads and breaking down compound words like “sun…..shine”. Once they blended the parts together to shout “sunshine” the chase was on!

The #secondgrade scientists in 2T have been hard at work investigating rocks! 🔍 Already they’ve explored rocks from a volcano 🌋 as well as river rocks. These scientists are discussing ways to organize and sort their rocks by various properties (color, size, shape, texture). Today they combed the playground for rocks and washed them to begin a class rock collection. Need a little help finding rocks in your yard? 🪨 Need some help organizing your laundry this weekend? 🧺 Hire a second grade expert! 😉

Second graders are learning new math centers as a part of our new math curriculum. This game is called "How close?" Students add three numbers together to see who gets closer to 20 without going over!

In CAPS this week kindergartens read “The Color Monster” to explore their emotions through a hands-on partner activity! Here is how our learners practiced naming their feelings: 1) think-pair-share: Mrs. Zaruba explained each feeling and the color it matched with. Then students paired up and shared times they felt those feelings 2) Fine motor practice: Once they finished sharing “I feel when…”, they got to put the matching bead on their pipe cleaner! We turned our pipe cleaners into a fidget or a bracelet! We love seeing our students build empathy, practice active listening, and growing their emotional vocab!

K-2 students wrapped up the school year with our final PBIS assembly today! 🎉 We reflected on our four Marion Way traits—Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Integrity—and talked about ways we can continue demonstrating them at home and in our community throughout the summer. To celebrate a fantastic year of learning and growth, we finished our assembly with an all-school recess filled with music, bubbles, and lots of fun! ☀️🫧🎶 What a great way to kick off summer while remembering the values that make our school community so special! #lesinspire

We had a fantastic time celebrating the last day of school today! 🎉 Our teachers and staff kicked off the morning by welcoming students as they arrived with their families. Then, students made their way through a special greeting line filled with smiles, cheers, and plenty of high fives as we celebrated an amazing year together. To celebrate the last day of preschool Wednesday all of the preschool classes went to Lowe Park. What a fun way to end a fun year! #lesinspire

🎓 On Monday evening, our full-day and half-day preschool classes celebrated their Preschool Graduation! We had so much fun recognizing all of our amazing graduates. The students proudly sang songs, received their diplomas, and celebrated all they have learned and accomplished this year. We are so proud of each and every one of them and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things they do next!
