Mrs. Beckner’s class has been having fun learning about kings and queens during their CKLA Knowledge time. Each day they have a different king and queen that get to wear a cape and crown, sit on a royal throne during instruction time, and get wheeled to specials in the royal chariot! They love when students and staff bow to them when they pass! #lesinspire

No School today, Friday, February 20th due to the weather. Stay safe.

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! LEARNING OLYMPICS!
Your child will receive a "passport" upon arrival to take to all their "destinations". After visiting each destination and completing the activity, they will receive a stamp in their passport. After they have completed all of the activities and filled their passport, stop by the "gold medal stand" to get a gold medal and for a photo op on the winner's podium! Don't forget to check out our class flags in the "Olympic Village" (specials hallway)! When you're finished, hop on over to Your Pie to grab supper and support the Longfellow Parent Group. It promises to be a fun, family night! We hope to see you there! #lesinspire

Happy 100th Day of School! Throughout the day students and staff could be found celebrating by dressing up, exploring the number 100 with math activities, having a special 100th day snack, making a crown, and other fun activities! #lesinspire

There’s so much learning that happens when we make time to play! 🎉🧠#lesinspire

Happy School Counselor's Week to our very own Mrs. Zaruba! Thank you for all you do for our school, staff, and school!

Mrs. Showalter’s class is learning about solids by building towers out of solid materials and testing their durability. Check out these awesome towers! It took some good teamwork to build these. #lesinspire

Preschool Information Night is coming up this week! We hope to see you there if you have an incoming preschooler for the 2026-2027 school year.

Kindergarteners in KB have been learning that shapes are EVERYWHERE! Today in math they went on a shape hunt around the school. Students drew clocks, lockers, stop signs, and a lot of other shaped objects they saw. When they got back to the classroom they shared with their classmates the things that they drew. #lesinspire

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Pflughaupt’s class practiced segmenting and blending sounds in a fun, hands-on way today! By tossing a beach ball with words on it, students stretched the sounds and blended them together to read each word. This playful activity helped build early reading skills while keeping learning active and engaging. We’re so proud of their growing confidence as readers! #lesinspire

We will not have school on Friday, January 23rd due to the cold weather warning. We will not have any morning activities. Evening activities for Friday will by made by noon on Friday as we monitor the cold weather warning. #StaySafe

Mrs. Beckner’s mathematicians worked on comparing numbers by playing the game Top-It. Each player turns over a number card and decides which one is bigger. The person with the bigger number gets to keep the cards. They used math language like: greater, less than, more, fewer, higher, and lower. What a fun and easy way to practice! #lesinspire

Nothing like a coloring party with friends to end an early-out day! K-2 students earned a coloring party by filling class paw pyramids by showing respect using the right voice level in the halls. ❤️🖍️☺️ #lesinspire

After our already planned early dismissal today, we will not have any afternoon or evening activities for students. Please see Marion Home School's communication about the MHSAP schedule for today.

The first graders got to do some special bird watching at recess Thursday when a bald eagle landed in one our trees and spent the whole recess there! It was a sight to see! #lesinspire
