We met our first reading minutes goal! Our students have read 100,000 minutes at home this year, so we celebrated with a Glow Party! Thank you to the Longfellow Parent Group for donating all the glow supplies! Our Preschool-2nd grade students had a great time dancing with their glow sticks and bracelets! Thanks to Mrs. Freesmeier we also had black lights to add to the glowing excitement! We have already started working our way to our next goal of 200,000 minutes!

📚✨ Our 2nd graders had a “book tasting party” in library class this week! Students sampled different chapter books—just like trying new foods at a restaurant—getting a little taste of each story to find new favorites. 🍽️📖

They explored exciting characters, surprising plots, and new series to add to their reading lists. We love watching their curiosity grow! ❤️🤩 #lesinspire

Help us keep every campus safe—one closed door at a time. As part of our Stop the Prop campaign, we’re reminding students that keeping doors shut protects everyone inside.

✅ Close doors behind you
✅ Never prop doors open
✅ Don’t let others in through locked entrances

Please talk with your student about how they can help keep their school safe. 🛑

Kindergartners is Mrs. Beckner’s class have been learning about different types of paper in science. They have been doing experiments like writing with different writing utensils on different types of paper, seeing how the different types of paper react to water, and learning about ways to recycle paper. It’s been a lot of hands on learning in KB! #lesinspire

This week, Mrs. Beckner’s kindergarten class had a special visit from Mr. Gallea of Samurai Martial Arts! He taught the students important lessons about confidence, self-control, basic self-defense, and how to stay safe around strangers. As a fun bonus, both the students who attend his classes—and even Mrs. Beckner—got the chance to break a board! 🥋👏#lesinspire

The second grade scientists in 2T were investigating soil this week. 👨🏽‍🔬 They discovered soil is comprised of sand, gravel, pebbles, and humus. (Ask your favorite #secondgradeexpert what humus is! 🤓) After the soil was combined, the second graders tried separating the mixture using screens. #lesinspire
