Second graders have been studying Westward Expansion during their CKLA Knowledge block. They heard stories about the pioneers traveling the Oregon Trail 🐴, Native Americans being forced to move from their homes, how inventions like the steamboat and transcontinental railroad 🚂 impacted life, and about the buffalo 🦬 that lived in the area. This week students took the summaries and pictures they’ve created and designed “quilts” to share their stories. Want to learn more about Westward Expansion?
