Make consistent attendance a priority this school year! 🎒
Research shows that students who attend school daily achieve at higher levels than students who are frequently absent. Chronic absenteeism is linked to lower reading and math scores and a higher risk of dropping out of high school.
If you’re feeling well, you should be in school. Let’s work together to make the most of this school year! #MISDinspire #MISDOwnYourFuture

Preschool Teacher Amanda Heim is celebrating 15 years of service in MISD! 🙌
“Working closely with others on different projects, committees, and student learning has allowed for relationships to form outside of school hours,” she says. “It's nice to be part of a community where you see past students and they remember your name—and you still remember theirs!” We appreciate all you do, Amanda!

Longfellow Special Education Teacher Chelsea Albright is celebrating 10 years of service in MISD! 🎉 “At MISD, especially at Longfellow, it's like being part of one big family,” she says. “We're all about putting the kids first and supporting each other along the way. I love knowing that if I ever need anything, I can count on anyone here. It really makes work feel like more than just a job!”

Today, we’d like to shine a spotlight on Ann Wilson, a preschool teacher who is marking 15 years of service in MISD! 👏 “The best part of being part of the MISD community is the students and watching them grow and learn,” she says. In her free time, Ann enjoys reading, shopping, camping, and spending time with her family.

This past school year was 2nd Grade Teacher Mary Tank’s 20th in MISD! 🙌
We’re grateful for everything she has done and continues to do for our young learners.
