Kindergarten just finished studying Colonial Towns and Townspeople in Reading Knowledge. Mrs. Beckner’s class worked hard and made their own butter. The students were shocked that it worked and loved taste-testing their product.

Mrs. Tank’s second graders have been learning about insects in both science and their CKLA Knowledge unit. Students have already created informational narratives where they had to write from an insect’s point of view. ✍️ Today students were creating a diagram of their insect’s body. Have you seen any of these insects in your neighborhood this spring? 🦋🐜🐝🦗

Ms. Jenni's preschool class put a bean seed in a wet paper towel, put it in the window, and journaled what it looked like. A week later they looked at the seeds, observed the changes (like roots), and journaled again. Then they planted the seeds to see what will happen next.

First graders recently finished a unit on the History of the Earth from our new Amplify reading series. In this unit they learned about the layers of the earth, volcanoes, geysers, rocks and minerals, fossils, and dinosaurs! To finish up the unit they made a geyser using Diet Coke and Mentos! We wonder if that is how Old Faithful looks. They also made a model of the earth and its layers using Play-doh. Can you name the 4 layers of the earth? We can! #lesinspire

Last week in library class 2nd graders were given a variety of materials. They had to use the materials to create a tower that would withstand 15 seconds of "tornado"winds. Students did a great job and if they were not successful at first they were quick to alter their designs.
