2nd graders finished their knowledge unit on Early Asian Civilizations.The unit focused on ancient India and ancient China. They celebrated by learning to use chopsticks, write a few words in Chinese, use hieroglyphs, and listening to a story about Diwali, the Festival of Lights.





Kindergarten and 1st grade students had a visit from Marion Firefighters today. They learned about fire safety, got to see a firefighter in full gear, and got to see and hear the fire truck! Thank you MFD!

Get to Know Ms. Jenni
My name is Jenni Ringwald and this is my 22nd year teaching early childhood. My husband Joe and I have been married for 24 years and have 2 kids, Jackson and Joy. Jackson started his junior year at UNI this fall and Joy is a freshman at Wartburg. My hobbies include; kayaking, gardening, reading, and helping out and acting at Giving Tree Theater.

Mr. Meth has been teaching for 26 years, 25 with Marion.
Mr. Meth has a wife Renee who is also a teacher with the district (FMI)
Mr. Meth has 2 children:
-Grant, 22 years old, Senior at Wartburg College
-Emily, 18 years old, will graduate from Kirkwood Community College in the spring then will transfer to Bradley University.
-Both want to become teachers just like their parents.
Mr. Meth has a dog named Snickers
Mr. Meth likes to travel with his family.

Longfellow celebrated International Dot Day on Thursday by wearing dots and decorating the halls with unique dots! Some classes used an app to create 3D dots

Get to know Longfellow's new 1st Grade teachers, Mrs. Tabaka.
This is Mrs. Tabaka's fourth year teaching but first year at Longfellow!
Her husband, Eric, is an elementary and middle school music teacher at Vinton-Shellsburg.
She spent the summer welcoming home their mini-poodle puppy, Maple.
Fun Fact: Mrs. Tabaka student taught with Mrs. Kuethe a few years ago.
