2nd graders finished their knowledge unit on Early Asian Civilizations.The unit focused on ancient India and ancient China. They celebrated by learning to use chopsticks, write a few words in Chinese, use hieroglyphs, and listening to a story about Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

Get to know Longfellow's new 1st Grade teachers, Mrs. Tabaka. This is Mrs. Tabaka's fourth year teaching but first year at Longfellow! Her husband, Eric, is an elementary and middle school music teacher at Vinton-Shellsburg. She spent the summer welcoming home their mini-poodle puppy, Maple. Fun Fact: Mrs. Tabaka student taught with Mrs. Kuethe a few years ago. Welcome Mrs. Tabaka to the Longfellow family!
