Ms. Ann’s preschool class filled their paw pyramid by showing the Marion Way! To celebrate, our custodian, Mr. Tim came in as a surprise reader!

‘Tis the season to give back! Make a donation to our nutrition fund to directly support MISD students and families this holiday season. ❤️
Every student deserves a healthy meal, and we never turn away those in need of breakfast or lunch. Unfortunately, meal costs can add up, leaving some families with debt.
Your donation, big or small, makes a lasting impact on the education and well-being of our students.

Did you hear the news? We are launching Reading Challenges each month! The students attended an assembly today where they learned all about it. In your child's backpack today you should have found a reading log and a letter explaining it all. If you haven't found them yet, be sure to check those backpacks because the challenge starts NOW! #lesinspire

Check out the details for the next Fastworks event on December 3rd.

Our Kindness Krew for this quarter has been hard at work doing their daily jobs of greeting, returning lunch cards, picking up ice packs, picking up recycling, helping with the No Thank You cart, and holding doors, as well as, helping with our PBIS assembly and sorting food for the food drive! They are great examples of leaders and exemplify kindness at Longfellow. #lesinspire #misdinspire

Ms. Jenni's class learned about the letter N this week. They played a game by looking for the letter N on nut pictures. If it was a letter other than N they would say, "Oh nuts!" #lesinspire #misdinspirr

During Extra PE with Mr. Meth, students had fun putting scarves in front of the big fan and watching them fly, then chasing them down to do it all over again! #lesinspire #misdinspire

Lots of exciting things happen at recess some days including so many leaves to play in and fire trucks driving by and honking! #lesinspire #misdinspire

First graders are currently learning about ancient civilizations in knowledge. This week they learned about ancient Egypt and their writing. They even used hieroglyphics to write their names! #lesinspire #misdinspire

How do good readers get to be good readers? By READING, of course! 🤓 The second graders practice reading every day. Many days they will partner read. Partners are a great way to hear someone else reading with good expression and also provide help when you encounter a tricky word you don’t know. #2headsarebetterthan1
If you need a fun idea this weekend, try partner reading with your student. Grab a book, a comfy spot, and take turns delighting in the story! 📚😊#lesinspire #misdinspire

Preschool visited the Marion Public Library Friday! They learned about what the library does, what they can find in the library, and so much more! Students also got to listen to one of the librarians read and decorate a turkey. #lesinspire #misdinspire
