Goal setting is a great way to help students track and celebrate their learning! For this last portion of the year, we are focusing hard on goal setting. John Hattie's research says goal setting has an effect size of .50, which is more than a year's growth! The students are setting goals, and anytime they achieve that goal, they get to ring a bell and sign the board outside the library (check it out when you are here for conferences next week)! Maybe you have heard your child talk about this already! We are excited to watch the number of names grow on the board as goals are met all over the building! #lesinspire #misdinspire

Mrs. Beckner’s kindergarteners worked on taking surveys today in math. They picked a question, asked their friends, and will then work on representing the survey data. #lesinspire #misdinspire

A nutritious breakfast is linked to better memory, concentration, and academic outcomes, setting students up for success in the classroom and beyond. Happy National School Breakfast Week! 🍎✨

Second graders have been studying Westward Expansion during their CKLA Knowledge block. They heard stories about the pioneers traveling the Oregon Trail 🐴, Native Americans being forced to move from their homes, how inventions like the steamboat and transcontinental railroad 🚂 impacted life, and about the buffalo 🦬 that lived in the area. This week students took the summaries and pictures they’ve created and designed “quilts” to share their stories. Want to learn more about Westward Expansion? Ask your favorite second grade expert! ☺️
