In Mrs. Tursi's class today, the question: "How do we know what a star is made of?" was presented. Students used materials to analyze the light given off by Hydrogen, Helium, Neon, and Mercury to understand how scientists know what elements are inside stars.

Bakery class spent the day decorating their own cakes. Each student made a mini, two-layered cake and designed it using their frosting piping skills and techniques. We had some very proud chefs in the kitchens this week!

Last night was the 2nd annual Parent Night for the Hungry Wolf Bistro, Marion High School’s fine dining work experience. This event allows students to showcase their skills by preparing and serving a three course meal to their families in a fine dining setting. Seeing the students’ pride in their work made the evening amazing, and the delicious food was just an added bonus. Thank you to the students, staff and families that made this a success!

Drop It Like It's Bot, MHS's Robotics team, was in the house today, presenting for the staff!

Today, bakery students worked together to solve the "yeast dough" puzzle. Students matched vocab words and definitions while also filling in the blank responses. This was a fun and different way to study for our upcoming unit quiz. They focused on answer accuracy, not just speed...but also speed to be the first group done!

Students in foods one made their very own French style omelets in class. They chose an assortment of filling options and worked to fold the perfect omelet. Lots of great omelets were made today, students felt like professional chefs showing off their skills!

MHSAP families had a special treat today, as it was the grand opening of the Marion Homeschool's very own pop-up coffee shop, Family Grounds! This was possible due to a collaboration with MHS's Wolf Pack Cafe through the TAP program to help students work on work readiness skills. Thomas is a Marion High School student and Jillian is a homeschool student, and they made a great team. They were very busy and sold many strawberry lemonades, coffees and caramel lattes. The future of Family Grounds is going to potentially be a rotating responsibility where different families sign up to host the cart. Great work Thomas and Jillian, and thank you to all the customers who supported Family Grounds!!

Our winter assembly was bursting with entertainment and fun - a great way for our students to express their interests and promote school spirit. Go wolves! Watch some clips at this link: https://youtu.be/FCM5kfq1Pvs
