Big Red’s Supply Co. “popped up” at NewBo Market on Sunday, 3/29, selling MHS student-made products and learning some small business skills!

Bakery class completed their cupcake wars project today. Each group chose their favorite cupcake and frosting flavor. They showcased their cupcakes with a design and theme of their choosing. Everyone did a fantastic job with this project!




THIS SUNDAY: Big Red Supply Co (MISD's very own pop-up market consisting of student-made merchandise) 10-3 at NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids. A variety of goods will be available, with many items priced under $5. Payment is card only. Look for the Marion tent, and we will see you there!



After winning the D.A.R. Outstanding Teacher of American History for the state of Iowa, MHS' Jonathan Mitchell was entered into the national contest. We are proud to announce that he finished 3rd in the entire USA! Congrats Mr. Mitchell!

Info About Senior Honors Night!

In Mrs. Tursi's class today, the question: "How do we know what a star is made of?" was presented. Students used materials to analyze the light given off by Hydrogen, Helium, Neon, and Mercury to understand how scientists know what elements are inside stars.



Bakery class spent the day decorating their own cakes. Each student made a mini, two-layered cake and designed it using their frosting piping skills and techniques. We had some very proud chefs in the kitchens this week!



Last night was the 2nd annual Parent Night for the Hungry Wolf Bistro, Marion High School’s fine dining work experience. This event allows students to showcase their skills by preparing and serving a three course meal to their families in a fine dining setting. Seeing the students’ pride in their work made the evening amazing, and the delicious food was just an added bonus. Thank you to the students, staff and families that made this a success!
