The MHS Dance Team competed at the 50th Annual ISDTA State Competition last Friday in Des Moines. The team earned Division 1 Rankings for both their Pom and Jazz routines and was also honored with the Distinguished GPA Award. Miss Shelby lit up the Casey’s Arena with her Beyond Limits solo performance! What a wonderful season—great job, dancers!

Congratulations to our very own Mr. Logan Vander Wiel, as he was selected to receive the Phillip Sehmann Excellence in Teaching Award from the Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association! This award is awarded annually to only three directors in the state! March on, Mr. VW!

Students in Foods 1 are learning all about eggs this week. They dissected eggs as a class to learn about the various parts of the egg and what function each part provides to the egg structure. Students will master their omelette making skills during this unit to apply their egg part knowledge.

Congratulations to Marion High School's Jonathan Mitchell for being named the D.A.R. Outstanding Teacher of American History for the state of Iowa! He will receive his award in Des Moines at the state conference in April. Good luck to Mr. Mitchell as he represents Iowa in the national contest!
