Today was the Q1 2025 Hungry Wolf Bistro Day at Marion High School. Students worked hard transforming the classroom into a fine dining space and preparing a delicious meal for staff who made reservations, complete with Italian or meatball sub sandwiches, potato salad, and scotcheroos! They even tried their hand at crafting charcuterie boards to practice their kitchen safety skills, and the results were fantastic and scrumptious. Congrats to the entire Bistro Team!

The GIC students went on 2 Career Discovery Tours this week. They visited IFP Motion Solutions and ESCO Group. A big thanks to Mr. Kettmann and Kirkwood's Workplace Learning Connection for setting up this great experience!

Check out this major upgrade done by the Garden Club! Special thanks to the Marion Foundation Grant and Facilities for their support.

Mrs. Farwell's Bakery class spent the day decorating their own individual-sized cakes. They were asked to decorate their cakes with a Halloween theme. Students really enjoyed letting their creativity shine, and some just couldn't wait to taste-test their frosting.

The Garden Club and GIC Students received a grant from the MISD Foundation last spring to update the Monet Garden to create an outdoor learning space for students. The GIC students replaced the existing garden beds and just finished constructing 6 picnic tables. The first class was able to enjoy the weather and space today!

REMINDER: There will be no school for students on Friday, October 3. This will be a staff professional learning day. ✍️🗓️

Great day for a 3-mile bike ride with our Lifetime Wellness Physical Education Course! We continue our mission in establishing positive habits and routines while working towards lifelong health and wellness with some heart rate and cross-training. Excellent work by all!

Marion High School TAP Work Experience students are busy assembling orders from the first MISD Food Pantry order of the school year. The MISD Food Pantry (in affiliation with HACAP) has now moved to the Starry building and has lots of new upgrades, allowing the pantry to better serve district families! A huge thank you to the Marion Foundation for the grant that helped us upgrade with a conveyor belt, new shelving, and more! These improvements create an authentic grocery store setting that gives students hands-on experience that better prepares them to translate their skills into the workplace.
The MISD Food Pantry is free and available to any district family wanting to utilize it. The pantry takes online orders, then assembles them for quick, easy pick up for families. If you are interested, please contact Kristie Dixon at kdixon@marion-isd.org. Thank you!
