Marion Independent School District has been named a 2026 Iowa Top Workplace by The Des Moines Register, recognizing the district as one of the state’s top employers based on feedback from its employees.
Marion ISD ranked among midsize employers on the 2026 list. The Top Workplaces recognition is based on a confidential employee survey administered by Energage. Employees provide feedback about their workplace experience, including areas such as leadership, staff appreciation, direction, meaningfulness, and connection.
This marks the third consecutive year Marion ISD has been recognized as a Top Workplace, following recognitions in 2024 and 2025. The district’s continued recognition reflects the commitment of its staff to creating a positive, collaborative environment focused on students, families and one another.
“Being recognized as a top workplace is a meaningful accomplishment, because it comes directly from the people who make Marion such a great place to work,” said Superintendent Janelle Brouwer. “Our staff members care deeply about our students, support one another and work together to move our district forward. I am incredibly proud of the culture our staff have created and grateful for the dedication they bring to their work every day.”
Marion ISD serves more than 3,100 students through its PK-12 programs and Marion Home School Assistance Program. The district is committed to providing an environment where students and staff can learn, grow and thrive.

The Iowa Top Workplaces program is presented through The Des Moines Register in partnership with Energage. The recognition is based on employee feedback and is intended to highlight organizations that foster strong workplace cultures.
