Congratulations to Marion High School's Jonathan Mitchell for being named the D.A.R. Outstanding Teacher of American History for the state of Iowa! He will receive his award in Des Moines at the state conference in April. Good luck to Mr. Mitchell as he represents Iowa in the national contest!

At MISD, keeping schools safe is a shared effort. A door left open—even for just a moment—can create real safety concerns.
As part of our Stop the Prop campaign, you’ll notice new stickers on school doors across the district. These gentle reminders ask everyone to close doors behind them and avoid propping doors open.
It’s a small step that makes a big impact. 🚸

Congratulations to the VMS and MHS participants in the prestigious OPUS Honor Choir! These students were selected through a rigorous audition process and spent yesterday rehearsing and performing on the campus of Iowa State University with other top musicians from across the state.
