VMS Choir Concerts will be held tonight! The Fifth and Sixth Grade Concert is at 5:30 pm and the Seventh and Eighth Grade Concert is at 6:30 pm. Come and support our Vernon Vocalists! 🎵🎼🎶


From Coaches Menken and Kuethe: The 7th Grade Girls Track team was able to score 92 points at the CPU Invitational, and the 8th Grade Girls Track team finished in 2nd place out of five teams on 4/30/24, before the meet was called due to lightning! Way to go!

Girls and Boys Track and Field compete tonight at Center Point-Urbana. Both meets begin at 4:15 pm. Run fast, throw far, and jump high!


VMS Band Concerts are tonight in the Vernon Gymnasium! Fifth and Sixth Grade performs at 6:00 pm and Seventh and Eighth Grade (plus Jazz Band) performs at 7:00 pm. Make plans to support our fantastic Vernon musicians! 🎶🎷🥁🎺


The first round of skateboards have begun in our AMPED class! Thank you to all who have purchased clothing this year to help the program out in completing these very cool projects!




Kick Cancer t-shirts and other apparel are in and will be available for pick-up today:

The Sixth Grade teachers recently held their 3rd Quarter Awards Ceremony. Congratulations to our Vernon sixth graders who are doing great things! #VMSInspire








MHS Color Guard Auditions are open to students in grades 8-11. Clinics will be May 13-15 from 3:45-5:45 pm, and Auditions will be held May 16th from 3:45-5:45 pm. Register at https://forms.gle/GX6gA2fnz9yeDQWT9 and direct questions to Mrs. Thurston at ethurston@marion-isd.org.


Activities tonight include Boys Track and Field at Vinton-Shellsburg, Girls Track and Field at Center Point-Urbana (both starting at 4:15 pm), as well as Soccer versus CCA at the Marion High School Grass Fields (Girls play at 4:15 pm and Boys play at 5:30 pm). Best of luck!

From Coach Menken and Kuethe: The 7th and 8th Girls Track Teams competed in Independence on April 25 and both came away with 4th place finishes! We are so proud of individual efforts and team contributions! We can't wait to see how you do next week at CPU-TWICE!



From Coach MacTaggart and Coach Merritt: Last night the middle school boys competed at Center Point. There were multiple personal bests and some school records broken! 8th Grade finished 3rd overall and 7th grade finished 4th.




From Coach Menken: Even after nature threw high winds, a little rain, and a little sunshine, the Girls 7th Grade Track Team scored 96 points and placed 4th at the Anamosa Invitational, competing against several new teams. Come support the girls tonight in Independence!


The Inaugural Community Mental Health/Disability Resource Fair will be held next Tuesday, April 30th from 5:30-7:30 @ Marion High School. See details below!
