Vernon Boys Basketball teams play this afternoon! 7th Grade takes on Mt. Vernon at home, and 8th Grade travels to Mt. Vernon. Both games begin at 4:15 pm.

Boys Basketball kicks off today! 7th Grade takes on West Delaware at home, and 8th Grade plays at West Delaware. Both games begin at 4:15 pm. Good luck to our boys basketball players on a great season!


Foods 2 bakery class made hand pies for the pie and pastry unit. Groups got creative with their designs before baking!

The 7th grade girls basketball team wrapped up their 2023 season at the end of December. As the season progressed their play improved significantly. Well done, ladies!

Ms. Ehrle recently received a Marion Foundation Grant to add new books to her 6th Grade Literacy classroom library. Her students were excited to be introduced to the new books through a "Speed Dating" activity. Read more about it at: https://www.marion-isd.org/article/1394288

Winter break is here! Offices will be closed for the Marion Independent School District from December 25th through January 2nd. Staff will return for professional learning on January 3rd. School for students resumes on January 4, 2024! See you next year!

In early December, seven VMS 7th and 8th grade band students traveled to Oelwein for the NEIBA Honor Band. Eighth graders had the opportunity to audition for the prestigious All-Iowa Eighth Grade Honor Band. Elise A. was selected as an alternate on alto saxophone! Congratulation!




Students in MHS' AMPED program were busy making holiday shirts!





MHS students met for the first ever meeting of the Nail Art Club! Students can bring their own nail art supplies or use ones provided. The club will meet every Monday during M Block in rm 34 and will have a focus each week on a specific nail technique. The next meeting is on 1/8!

VMS Winter Choir Concerts are tonight in the VMS Gym! 5th and 6th Grade performs at 5:30 pm, and 7th and 8th Grade performs at 6:30 pm.
